Have you heard about the latest way to get the healthiest possible water right at your own kitchen sink? It’s called alkaline water and now through a special process, you can have it!

It used to be that reverse osmosis produced the best drinking water for home use. In fact, bottled water companies use RO systems to produce their water to distribute to the public. However, minerals that give water proper PH are missing from reverse osmosis water. Now there’s a solution and it’s called Alkaline Reverse Osmosis.

Does Reverse Osmosis Remove Minerals?

Reverse osmosis units can remove more than 99.9% of all total dissolved solids (TDS) from water. Therefore, many of the minerals which also create alkalinity are removed during the process.

Tap water contains mineral particles like calcium and magnesium, along with other unwanted things like chlorine used to kill bacteria. Minerals are needed for strong, healthy bones and teeth. In addition, they can regulate blood pressure, muscles, and nerve function. When a body has low levels of essential minerals salt, potassium, and phosphorous are also present in tap water and are needed for supporting the heart, maintaining the right balance of fluids, and influencing the growth, repair, and maintenance of cells all over the body.

All of these essential minerals are removed by reverse osmosis.

What are Some of the Benefits of Alkaline Water?

  • Your body can absorb minerals quicker from water than it can from food consumption, and therefore makes alkaline water a great way of maintaining mineral and electrolyte balance.
  • It gives water an appealing flavor
Many people find the taste of reverse osmosis “flat” and unpleasant. Alkaline water with re-added minerals, however, is much more enjoyable to taste, so you’re more likely to reach for a glass of water instead of juice or soda.
  • In addition to the taste and alkaline state of the water, you’ll also save the world from plastics used in bottled water that get used and then frequently thrown into landfills. It’s so great to reduce waste and have great tasting and healthy water for your home.
It is slightly more acidic than pure water, which has a pH level of around 7 – 7.5. Typically, the water is produced by reverse osmosis technology is between 6.0 – 6.5 pH.
We recommend drinking eight to twelve glasses (or two to three liters) of alkaline water per day to experience optimal benefits. Don’t make a fast switch, though – transition slowly by mixing up your alkaline water intake with regular water while you get used to the changes your body’s pH levels.
Alkaline ionized water can be considered a major safe strategy in the management of metabolic acidosis secondary to renal failure or dialysis or urinary diversion. (check with your nephrologist for a full conversation about this)
